About Me

I grew up in beautiful Hyrum, Utah with two brothers and one sister.

I attended Utah State University where I received a BS in Elementary Education and Early Childhood Education with and minor in French and a M.Ed. degree in Elementary Education.
Undergraduate Graduation Day with my best friend Jenny!
After getting my BS I was a private tutor for a 16 year old girl preparing to go back to high school after a year of home schooling.
I was the teacher, confidant, friend, housekeeper, nanny, and everything else!
After my time as a private tutor I moved back to Utah and took a teaching position as a French Dual Immersion Kindergarten Teacher.

During my time as a immersion Kindergarten teacher, I met and married the love of my life, Tim Hardy. We have been married for two years now and I could not wish for a better companion, supporter, and best friend. We were married on April 2, 2010.

After a year of being an immersion teacher I decided that it was time to go back to school and get a masters degree. Since I was going back to school, I also decided to switch to a part time, regular Kindergarten position at another school to lighten my load. I truly feel that I was meant to end up at this school. It has been one of the best teaching experiences of my life.

However, my husband has been accepted to Hult University in Shanghai, China and we will be moving there in September for at least a year. We are very excited for this opportunity and look forward to the adventures we're hoping to have. I will spend my time teaching English and working on this blog while Tim is busy with school. That is part of the reason I have created this new blog: I want to keep up with teaching while we are gone and I have a feeling that I'm going to have a lot of extra free time on my hands while Tim does his homework:) It will be interesting to see what life brings us after this new adventure in Shanghai!

Some fun facts about me:

My favorite food is chocolate (and yes chocolate is a food!) But not just the kind you get at the grocery store. I love the real, European chocolate that melts in your mouth and doesn't taste like wax!

My favorite place to visit is Paris. I would move there in a heartbeat.

I love to camp, hike, and fish.

I love rabbits, but basically can’t stand living with any other kind of animal.

I love art, movies, museums, and reading. I spend most of the summer catching up on my reading!

My favorite color is white, because it goes with everythingJ

I hope to teach 3rd or 4th grade one day.

Places I want to visit are: Ireland, Scotland, Indonesia, Thailand, Australia, New Zealand, and anywhere that has a beach!
